SUMMARY
A non-exempt position, reporting to the general manager is responsible for customer service, taking drink and menu orders from guests, serving prepared drinks and menu items, along with maintaining a clean and orderly dining area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets all guests in an efficient and timely manner, presenting menu and informing guests of all specials and off-menu items.
- Accurately delivers multiple food orders, drinks, and other items in a safe and timely manner; assures that all orders are accurately prepared, fresh and complete prior to serving the guest.
- Proven ability to effectively serve multiple guests, and/or multiple parties in an assigned area
- Effectively communicates with kitchen, head chef, general manager, and janitorial staff while maintaining business relationships
- Ability to treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction, always striving to exceed their expectations; ability to resolve minor issues and discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Consistently observant for completed orders, guests wishing to place an order and open tables; actively tracks all open, clean, dirty, and occupied tables.
- Maintains, cleans, organizes, and stocks remote serving counters
- Assures that restaurant areas are clean, all trash is consistently removed, floors and tables are free from debris and/or spilled drinks; effectively communicates with janitorial teams directing them to specific tables/areas of facility, willing to complete this work themselves during non-peak time.
- Responsibility to maintain personal hygiene by washing hands thoroughly, using the appropriate cleaning materials and resolving hazardous spills in a timely manner.
- Individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload as assigned by the General Manager, Supervisor, or C.E.O.

- Foster cooperative staff relationships and effective teamwork.
- Shall maintain a harmonious, pleasant, and positive work environment by following established standards for desirable conduct; including but not limited to discrimination, sexual harassment and alcohol/substance abuse.
- Actively promote a cohesive, cooperative working atmosphere by maintaining a safe, hazard free work environment, adhering to call OSHA and ADA requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work stations may be drafty due to its location by the door with medium to loud noise levels.
- Servers are constantly standing, walking, bending, stretching, and carrying trays with multiple items
- Hazards may include but are not limited to slipping, tripping, spilling trays, etc.
- Employee’s estimated percentage of daily physical requirements and/or pounds that may need to be completed on the job include:
- 100% standing and/or walking during entire shift
- 75% reaching, bending, and stooping
- 50% carries 20-30lbs over medium distance (20-30ft) and long distance (30-60ft)
- 100% verbal communicates with guests and staff, taking phone orders
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide within all units of measure.
- Familiar with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
