Server/Middleware Administrator - Rational Software Specialty (Immediate Hire)

Install, configure and support all Rational tools used by the customer. Provide expert guidance on usage and configuration of Rational’s Lifecycle tools to customer. Maintain other Windows bases products as directed by Server Administration Team Lead.

Duties include:

• Software Installation – Install ClearQuest, ReqPRO, ClearCase, and License Manager.

• Configuration – Configure software to meet usage requirements as defined by customer.

• Performance Tuning – Measure, report and recommend settings that affect performance of all data tools.

• Architectural – Participate with other staff to design optimal implementation solutions.

• Support – Assist other staff in diagnosing problems and developing fixes. Educate staff on proper use of Rational products.

• Documentation – Document all processes used in maintaining products. Maintain configuration documents of all deployed environments.

Required skills:

• Windows Server

• Windows Desktop

• Working knowledge of Microsoft SMS tool

• Working knowledge of Windows registry

• Scripting languages (Bash, BAT, Perl, z/OS JCL...)

• Strong verbal communication and experience in consulting with senior business SMEs to elicit requirements

• Strong written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have skills:

• Experience working on Linux or Unix servers

• Experience with these other Rational products; Insight, Team Concert, Requirements Composer, Quality Manager, Functional Tester or Performance Tester

• Experience using DB2 on Windows or Linux

• z/OS-OS/390-MVS experience
