JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position: Server and/or Banquet Server.
Department: Food & Beverage.

Job Summary:
Performs all tasks associated with presetting, serving, and breaking down rooms where food service activities are performed

Job Specifications:
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One + years of experience as a Food Server/Banquet Server in a country club, upscale hotel, or free-standing restaurant operation.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of quality food service techniques and standards.
  • Exceptional guest service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry food service trays weighing 35+ pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively during the entire shift.
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Certifications: “TIPS” or equivalent responsible vendor, ServSafe.
Wine knowledge.

Job Duties:
Job Specific:
  • Completes required set-up/preparation of area before the scheduled activity.
  • Inspects all equipment before, during, and at the end of each shift.
  • Reports any deviations from standards to the Manager/Supervisor.
  • Inventories materials and supplies at the beginning of a shift, and obtains quantities necessary to support forecasted levels of business.
  • Prepares coffee, iced/hot tea, and other beverages as required.
  • Check all plates before service for accuracy, completeness, appearance, and presentation.
  • Serves food to members and their guests in accordance with Service Standards.
  • Monitors members and their guests, anticipates needs, responds to requests, and ensures satisfaction.
  • Monitors members' and their guests' alcohol consumption to prevent overindulgence and ensure safety.
  • Clears tables and breaks down the area after completion of the food service activity.
  • Completes assigned end-of-shift duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General:
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times.
  • Notifies appropriate individuals promptly and fully of problems and/or unusual matters of significance.
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to members and their guests, management, and fellow employees.
  • Executes emergency procedures by club standards.
  • Complies with required safety regulations and procedures.
  • Attends appropriate department meetings and training sessions.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work areas.
  • Complies with club standards, policies, and rules.
  • Remains current with club information and changes.
  • Complies with club uniform and grooming standards.

Other Details:
  • Within the first 30 days, servers must be able to perform to standards in all activities.
