Summary
McElroy Metal has an opening for the position of Service Center Area Manager / South Central Area (Diamond, MO, Little Rock, AR, Bossier City, LA, Alexandria, LA and Pearl, MS). This exempt-level position provides leadership and direction to multiple Service Centers within an assigned area, with responsibility for developing Store Managers, driving sales growth, improving profitability, and maintaining operational excellence. The Area Manager is expected to build strong teams, establish accountability, identify business opportunities, and ensure alignment with company goals. This position reports directly to the General Manager of Service Centers.
Hours
8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F
Responsibilities
- Recruits, coaches, develops, and evaluates Service Center Managers while establishing accountability.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Conducts regular store visits to evaluate safety, facilities, and operational performance.
- Analyzes financial performance and develops action plans to improve profitability.
- Drives sales growth through customer development, sales strategies, and market expansion.
- Evaluates market conditions, competitive activity, pricing, and expansion opportunities.
- Coordinates facility maintenance, improvements, and lease matters with company leadership.
- Supports managers in resolving customer concerns, product issues, and warranty claims.
- Collaborates with Accounting, Purchasing, Operations, and Customer Service.
- Oversees inventory accuracy, product mix, availability, and inventory procedures.
Experience/Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred.
- Sales/Customer Service experience in metal components and/or roofing products.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal building industry or related business.
- Minimum of 2 years of Management experience.
- Construction experience preferred.
- Experience with financial reporting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, and business operations.
