  • Salary up to $90,000 plus superannuation

  • Paid Microsoft certification exams, course materials and up to five study days each year

  • Broad exposure across Microsoft 365, servers, networking, security, onsite support and projects

The opportunity

Deployus is looking for an experienced Service Desk Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with clients and developing a broad range of IT skills.

This is not a narrowly defined support position. You will work across businesses from a wide range of industries, each with different systems, priorities and technical challenges. One day may involve resolving a Microsoft 365 or desktop issue, while the next may involve Windows Server, networking, security, onsite support or project work.

You will join an established and expanding Engineering team and work across our Service Desk, Onsite and Project Teams. The role requires someone who can take responsibility for technical issues, communicate clearly with clients and see work through to completion.

What you will be doing

  • Troubleshooting and resolving desktop, Microsoft 365, server and infrastructure issues

  • Administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Entra ID and Microsoft Defender

  • Supporting Windows Server environments

  • Communicating directly with clients and keeping them informed

  • Documenting technical work, solutions and client environments clearly

  • Working with other Engineers on escalations, onsite activities and project work

  • Managing competing priorities across multiple client environments

  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and client outcomes

What we are looking for

You will need:

  • At least five years’ desktop support experience

  • At least three years’ Windows Server administration experience

  • Recent Microsoft 365 administration experience, including:

    • Microsoft 365 tenant administration

    • Exchange Online

    • SharePoint Online

    • OneDrive

    • Entra ID

    • Microsoft Defender

  • Demonstrated mid-level technical capability

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation

  • Confidence working directly with clients and management

  • Strong organisation and time-management skills

  • The ability to adapt when priorities or work assignments change

  • Australian working rights

This role requires relevant Microsoft certifications to be obtained within six months of commencement. Deployus will support you in achieving them.

Experience that will be highly regarded

Experience with any of the following will strengthen your application:

  • Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI or Power Apps

  • Microsoft Intune and endpoint management

  • Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance

  • Routing, switching and firewall administration

  • UniFi, Fortinet or Palo Alto technologies

  • Windows Server Hyper-V

  • Broader cloud, automation or cybersecurity technologies

You do not need to be an expert in every desirable technology. We are looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, the ability to learn and a genuine interest in expanding their capabilities.

Training and career development

We take professional development seriously.

Deployus provides monthly technical training sessions during business hours. Employees can also access up to five paid study days each year for approved formal certifications.

For approved training and certifications, we provide course materials and cover the cost of the first exam attempt. Certification planning is aligned with both the employee’s development and the technologies used by our clients. This training support is consistent with Deployus’s internal professional-development policy.

The breadth of our client environments also provides opportunities to develop beyond traditional Service Desk work and gain exposure to onsite engineering, infrastructure, cloud, modern work, security, automation and project delivery.

Salary

A salary of up to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation is available, depending on your experience, technical capability and industry certifications.
