Service Development Representative supports profitable growth of the service department by proactively generating new maintenance and repair revenue. This role is responsible for developing and expanding relationships with larger, multi-location customer accounts across the Lakeside territory. The Service Development Representative partners closely with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities, understand customer operating needs, and present a broad portfolio of service solutions—including preventive maintenance programs, repair planning, and uptime-focused support—tailored to each customer’s business.
- Identify potential customers, build and expand relationships with key accounts through customer visits, direct marketing, and cold calls. Establishing positive first impressions and building rapport.
- Make customer calls/ visits with service, parts, and sales staff to increase overall market penetration.
- Collaborating effectively to provide comprehensive solutions and enhance customer experience.
- Representing Lakeside professionally, ethically in all interactions with potential customers, building trust and credibility.
- Continuously research and analyze markets to identify potential customers and understand their needs.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities and new products/service offerings to effectively communicate the value proposition to potential customers.
- Adapt to evolving needs of the organization and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
- 1-3 years in sales, business development or marketing type role
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the phone, and in person
- Comfortable soliciting new business and meeting new people
- Ability to communicate strategically and creatively
- Flexible with the ability to work with a variety of customers and their needs
- Disciplined, with good organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate computer skills and the ability to work with dealership systems
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of the transportation/ truck industry
- Valid driver’s license
