Service Engineer - Christchurch

We specialise in the design, procurement, implementation, and support of corporate ICT infrastructure solutions including those delivered via the cloud.

We are looking for an experienced Service Engineer to join our team to be based in Christchurch at one of our key customers.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position working at our customer's site, this is not a remote role. This position provides technical expertise to support on the onsite team.

What you'll do for us

• Support Microsoft Desktop OS and Applications

• Deliver general corporate end-user support, technical fault analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution

• Implement solutions, including new or enhanced systems, technology, or infrastructure

• Monitor, administer, and report on infrastructure platform systems and functions (e.g., backups)

• Review and update all relevant documentation regularly

• Perform capacity analysis on existing systems and recommend system expansion or other solutions

• Log activity accurately and promptly

What you'll bring in your Kit bag

• Minimum of 3 years industry experience

• Previous experience in a field support position.

• A sound understanding of the connectivity between desktop, server and network hardware, as well as functioning across a distributed environment.

• Knowledge across the following areas:

  • Core Microsoft technologies (AD, Printing, DHCP, DNS)

  • Cloud technologies (Office365, Exchange Online, Azure and AWS)

  • Virtualisation technologies (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V).

• Windows deployment and patching

• Confidence to engage with our clients and talk them through benefits of the solution you are recommending.

However, soft-skills and a willingness to learn are more important.
