About the role:
Our Service Engineers are mostly based on-site at cement plants, primarily across Turkey, with opportunities to travel globally as required. This is a full-time, highly field-oriented role involving approximately 70–80% travel (around 180–200 travel days per year).
You will provide comprehensive technical support for rotary equipment, including cement kilns, rotary drums, coolers, and dryers, covering installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities. Combining hands-on technical expertise with strong customer relationship management, you will help ensure optimal equipment performance, minimize downtime, and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
Working both independently and closely with plant teams, contractors, and technical colleagues at the head office, you will troubleshoot complex equipment failures, implement preventive maintenance programs, and contribute to continuous improvements in plant operations across a global customer base.
About the department:
You will join the Turkey office, which is part of the EMEA Pyro and Grinding Service Execution Team, a customer-focused team responsible for delivering a wide range of mechanical services across the region, including troubleshooting, installations, inspections, maintenance, and technical support.
The department works closely with customers to understand and respond effectively to their needs, often operating in dynamic and challenging environments. Collaboration, flexibility, and a strong customer focus are at the heart of the team, enabling us to deliver reliable service solutions and support our customers’ operations wherever they are.
Your Responsibilities:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conducting technical inspections and site assessments prior to rotary equipment installations and maintenance
- Overseeing and supervising equipment installation, alignment, and assembly at customer plants
- Performing startup and equipment commissioning of new systems and related components
- Conducting performance testing and validation against technical specifications
- Preparing and submitting detailed commissioning reports documenting all activities, observations, and corrective actions
- Training customer personnel on proper operation and emergency procedures during startup phase
Customer Relationship & Technical Support:
- Maintaining professional and collaborative relationships with customer plant management and technical teams
- Providing technical training to customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting
- Responding to technical queries and provide remote support via phone, email, and collaboration tools
- Conducting pre-visit planning and material preparation to ensure efficient on-site activities
- Communicating project timelines, technical findings, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Contributing to customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery and professional conduct
Team Support & Knowledge Transfer:
- Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior field technicians and service contractors
- Assisting in training and onboarding of new field service personnel
- Contributing technical expertise to improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Sharing field experience and customer insights with engineering and product development teams
- Participate in technical forums and continuous learning activities
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhering strictly to all safety procedures, local regulations, and company policies
- Conducting risk assessments before commencing work and implement appropriate safety measures
- Using personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and ensure safe work practices
- Reporting all incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns to management
- Complying with local environmental regulations and site-specific requirements
You bring:
Technical Background:
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, or commissioning of industrial equipment
- Demonstrated expertise with Rotary systems in cement, grinding, or similar heavy industrial plants
- Experience in mechanical troubleshooting and repair of rotating machinery and industrial equipment
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems in industrial settings
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical engineering , or related discipline (Diploma with equivalent experience and proven track record may be considered)
- Technical certifications in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or equipment commissioning
Language:
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills combined with effective English communication skills.
