Service Engineer – Refrigeration Chillers
Job Description
The Company is seeking an experienced and hands-on Service Engineer to provide technical engineering support for refrigeration chiller systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintenance, installation, commissioning, retrofitting, troubleshooting, and repair activities while working closely with customers, contractors, sales teams, and management to ensure reliable system performance and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform service engineering activities for refrigeration chillers to maintain and improve system reliability and performance.
- Lead and support maintenance, commissioning, installation, retrofitting, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Diagnose technical issues and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive solutions.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries, equipment issues, and technical service requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive technical and service reports documenting system conditions, work performed, findings, and recommendations.
- Plan and coordinate service schedules with customers, sales teams, management, and contractors.
- Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and other assets required for service operations.
- Coordinate with contractors and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of service projects.
- Identify potential service opportunities and provide technical support to sales and business development activities.
- Support continuous improvement of service processes and customer solutions.
- Travel locally and overseas when required to perform commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and other service activities.
- Perform other technical and operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Relevant hands-on experience in service engineering, equipment maintenance, refrigeration, chillers, HVAC, or related technical environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interpret technical information and prepare professional service reports.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
- Willing to travel locally and internationally when required.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- 3 years or more of relevant experience, particularly within semiconductor or related industrial environments, will be advantageous.
- Experience with refrigeration chillers, cooling systems, or related equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of 2D technical drawing software will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented working approach.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and meet service requirements.
- Ability to identify customer needs and support new service opportunities.
