Brandt is seeking a motivated Workshop Foreman to join our Pakenham branch and support the day-to-day success of our Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic, Mechanic, or Fitter step into a leadership role while staying hands-on in the workshop. Working with industry-leading agriculture and construction equipment, you'll play a key role in developing our team and delivering exceptional customer service.

About the role
As Workshop Foreman, you will support the daily operation of the workshop and help lead a high-performing team of Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Fitters and apprentices. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will coordinate workflow, provide technical guidance, and help maintain strong safety, quality, and service standards while supporting the repair and maintenance of agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the allocation of jobs and workshop resources
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians, Mechanics, Fitters, and apprentices
  • Assist with diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues
  • Review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate technician training and skills development
  • Support workshop safety initiatives and team performance
  • Maintain workshop tooling and equipment
  • Assist with customer concerns and service-related enquiries
  • Step into a leadership role when the Service Manager is absent

About you

  • Trade qualified Diesel Mechanic, Mechanic, Fitter, or equivalent trade qualification
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Service Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Mechanic, or Fitter
  • Strong technical and diagnostic capability
  • Leadership skills with a genuine desire to mentor others
  • Experience with agricultural, construction, or heavy equipment
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to collaborate, lead by example, and build team capability
  • John Deere product experience is advantageous
  • Forklift licence preferred
