Description

Join Teachers Mutual Bank Limited during a significant, funded, multi-year technology transformation. In this role, you’ll shape how technology assets and configuration information are governed, controlled and improved across the bank.

Working across legacy tooling and emerging platforms, you’ll help build reliable foundations for service operations, regulatory reporting and informed decision-making. Your expertise will support the integrity of our Configuration Management Database (CMDB), improve software licence compliance and make technology assets more visible and traceable throughout their lifecycles.
This is an opportunity to influence practical change within a purpose-led mutual bank, while working across technology, risk, security, procurement, finance and external service providers.

What you’ll do
You’ll own and continually improve TMBL’s IT asset and service configuration management practices, establishing effective policies, standards, processes and controls.

You’ll oversee CMDB governance and data quality, including configuration models, relationships, ownership, dependencies, discovery and reconciliation. You’ll also lead software asset management and licence compliance activities, ensuring records and evidence remain ready for audits and regulatory reviews.

Working with business and technical owners, you’ll support software maintenance planning, licensing forecasts, renewals and cost optimisation. You’ll provide clear reporting on asset posture, CMDB health, lifecycle status, compliance exposures, risks and remediation progress.

You’ll also integrate asset and configuration management with Change Enablement, Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Continuity, Information Security and financial management practices.

What you’ll bring

Essential experience
You’ll have an ITIL v4 Foundation or Practitioner certification and substantial experience establishing, governing and improving ITIL-aligned practices.
You’ll understand the complete lifecycle of hardware, software, cloud services and other technology assets, from acquisition and deployment through to recovery, disposal and record closure.

You’ll bring experience developing governance frameworks, policies, procedures and controls that meet audit, security, regulatory and risk-management requirements. You can interpret complex asset, configuration, licensing, financial and risk information, turning it into clear priorities and proportionate actions.

You’ll also be comfortable influencing senior leaders, technology teams, risk and security functions, commercial teams, auditors, vendors and service providers.

Nice to have
Experience governing a CMDB, managing software licensing or integrating asset and configuration management with wider ITIL practices would be valuable.
Exposure to banking, financial services or another regulated environment would also be helpful, particularly experience relating to CPS 230, CPS 234 or ISO 27001.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or advanced ITIL, Microsoft, Azure or CompTIA certifications would be welcomed.
If you bring much of this experience but not all of it, we’d still encourage you to apply.

Why TMBL?
You’ll contribute to the modernisation and security of the technology foundations supporting a growing digital bank. Technology is central to TMBL’s future, including digital banking, lending transformation, personalisation and emerging AI capability.
The environment combines established systems and processes with developing platforms, giving you the opportunity to strengthen today’s operations while helping shape the future state.
