Service Manager
The Electrical Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the electrical service department. This role focuses on managing field technicians, coordinating service work, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring that service projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
The Service Manager does not perform project estimating and does not manage service software systems. Instead, the role focuses on leadership, field coordination, quality control, and customer satisfaction.
Service Department Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the electrical service department.
- Coordinate service calls, technician schedules, and job assignments.
- Ensure service work is completed on time, within scope, and meets quality standards.
- Communicate regularly with technicians to track job progress and resolve issues.
- Support technicians in troubleshooting electrical issues when needed.
Field Team Leadership
- Supervise and support service electricians and apprentices.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to field personnel.
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and jobsite standards.
- Conduct regular performance discussions with technicians.
- Address performance issues and disciplinary matters when necessary.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary contact for service clients.
- Maintain strong relationships with property managers, facility managers, and commercial clients.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by responding to concerns and resolving service issues.
- Conduct occasional jobsite visits to ensure customer expectations are being met.
Job Coordination
- Review service requests and ensure technicians have the proper materials and information before arriving on site.
- Coordinate with the warehouse, purchasing, or project managers when materials or support are required.
- Monitor service workflow and help prioritize urgent or emergency service calls.
- Ensure technicians complete required job documentation and submit service reports.
Safety and Compliance
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards.
- Ensure all technicians follow proper electrical safety procedures.
- Conduct jobsite safety checks when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with local codes, company standards, and industry regulations.
Operational Support
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to improve service department performance.
- Help identify areas for operational improvement within the service department.
- Assist with technician staffing needs, scheduling, and workload balancing.
- Support coordination between service and construction departments when needed.

- Occasionally coordinates with Foremen on service-related issues
