Service Manager - Wellness

ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The Arc San Francisco is a non-profit service and advocacy organization for adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and their families living in San Francisco and San Mateo counties. We currently serve a varied group of over 550 clients who, despite their diverse backgrounds, ages, and disabilities, are all similar in their desire to live a life of greater self-determination, dignity, and quality. Our goal is to provide support that enables people with developmental disabilities to maximize their potential, live meaningful lives and become integral members of the community. To that end, we provide a range of services relevant to all areas of adult life, from independent living supports and skills building to employment training and creative expression. POSITION SUMMARY:

Oversee programs and employees within the Wellness Department. Reporting to the Associate Director of Wellness Services, the Service Manager will provide support and guidance to ensure quality delivery of services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Intake & Assessment: Complete comprehensive assessments of Wellness participants, and if appropriate, their families, to identify supports needed to maintain/improve quality of life.

Overall Management: Oversee Wellness participants/families, including tracking their needs, outcomes, developments, and barriers to resources. Ensure the participant database is kept up to date.

Coaching and Feedback: Foster a coaching culture within the department by providing regular feedback to Wellness employees.

Administrative Duties: Manage departmental administrative tasks, such as tracking staff absences, approving vacation and sick time, handling timesheets, and completing Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) as needed.

Reporting: Submit quarterly/annual service and funding reports as required, by deadline.

Caseload Management: Collaborate with the Associate Director to manage caseload assignments, hold a small caseload with a monthly utilization expectation, and handle open caseloads as needed.

Coverage for Emergencies: Arrange or provide coverage for emergent participant needs, including emergency coverage and acute situations.

Coverage for Absences: Provide coverage for client needs when Wellness employees are unavailable due to vacation, illness, or other reasons.

POS/ISPs Tracking: Track Purchase of Service (POS) and Individual Service Plans (ISPs), remind direct reports of upcoming expirations, review for accuracy, and ensure timely submission of paperwork.

Hiring and Performance Management: Assist the Associate Director in interviewing, hiring, and training new Wellness employees and managing staff performance issues.

Meetings Participation: Attend and participate in monthly Assessment meetings and weekly Service Manager meetings. Co-facilitate monthly Wellness Department meetings with the Associate Director, rotating topics and sending out meeting notes to the team.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
