Service Operations Assistant
The Service Operations Assistant supports the Service Operations Manager in leading front-end operations and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position assists with overseeing cashiers, courtesy clerks, customer service functions, and front-end processes while helping drive productivity, service standards, and operational compliance. The Service Operations Assistant serves as a key leader, helping ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Front-End Operations- Deliver and promote exceptional customer service at all times.
- Assist in overseeing daily front-end operations, including check stands, self-checkout, and customer service areas.
- Help resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service opportunities in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure customers receive friendly, accurate, and efficient service.
- Support initiatives that improve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Assist with supervising, coaching, and developing front-end associates.
- Support training efforts for new hires and existing team members.
- Reinforce company standards, policies, and service expectations.
- Promote employee engagement, teamwork, and accountability.
- Provide recognition and feedback to encourage strong performance.
- Monitor front-end productivity and service levels throughout the day.
- Assist with scheduling, break compliance, and labor management.
- Support execution of company programs, promotions, and operational initiatives.
- Ensure front-end areas remain clean, organized, and customer-ready.
- Maintain accurate execution of cash handling and register procedures.
- Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support store compliance initiatives and operational audits.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Identify and address safety concerns promptly.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Assist with controlling front-end expenses and labor costs.
- Support cash accountability processes and shortage prevention efforts.
- Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational waste.
- Contribute to achieving department and store performance goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail, customer service, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with cash handling and customer service procedures.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and twisting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
