Service Technician
Description
If you can diagnose a stubborn piece of equipment faster than most people can find the on switch, we should talk. We are looking for someone in Sioux City, Iowa who treats a toolbox like an extension of their hands and sees a broken machine as a puzzle worth solving.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will be the person customers are relieved to see pull into the driveway. The job blends hands-on repair work with the kind of problem-solving that keeps things humming long after you have packed up your tools. Expect variety: no two service calls look quite the same, and the best part of the day is often the one you did not see coming.
What You Will Do
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair equipment at customer sites across the Sioux City region.
- Run diagnostics to pinpoint the real problem rather than the symptom, then fix it right the first time.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance so small issues never grow into expensive ones.
- Keep accurate service records, document parts used, and flag recurring trends worth a second look.
- Explain findings to customers in plain language, because a good Service Technician is part mechanic, part translator.
- Manage your parts inventory, vehicle stock, and schedule with the discipline of someone who hates backtracking.
- Follow all safety procedures and keep the work area cleaner than you found it.
What We Are Looking For
We want a Service Technician who is equal parts curious and dependable. The ideal candidate reads a manual when needed but trusts their gut when the manual runs out of answers.
- Hands-on experience in equipment repair, mechanical, electrical, or related technical service work.
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and a methodical approach to isolating faults.
- Comfort reading schematics, technical drawings, and diagnostic readouts.
- A valid driver's license and a clean, professional presence at customer sites.
- Clear communication skills, since a Service Technician often delivers both the diagnosis and the reassurance.
- The ability to work independently, manage time well, and lift or maneuver equipment as the job requires.
Relevant certifications or trade schooling are a plus, but a proven track record and a willingness to keep learning carry just as much weight. If you enjoy fixing what others give up on, you will fit right in as our next Service Technician.
