Service Technician
The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance in accordance with dealer and factory standards. This role requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a dedication to getting the job done right the first time. While not directly interacting with customers, the Technician plays a key role in supporting sales by identifying additional service opportunities and communicating them to the service team. A strong focus on fostering a positive, service-driven environment is essential, ensuring that every action contributes to both customer satisfaction and dealership success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retrieve repair orders from the Service Writers and bring them to the technician bay.
- Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and inform the parts department of required components; save and tag parts as needed for warranty claims or customer requests.
- Perform repairs efficiently and accurately, in compliance with dealership and factory standards.
- Inspect vehicles to identify any additional safety or service needs.
- Immediately notify the service writer of any additional required work, unnecessary repairs, or potential delays in completion of the work order.
- Accurately document all work performed.
- Road-test vehicles upon completion of repairs (as needed).
- Ensure that customers’ units are kept clean and protected from cosmetic damage.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes and be familiar with factory technical bulletins.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership- owned tools.
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager.
Qualifications:
- Passion for powersports and extensive knowledge of repairs to various powersports brands such as Polaris, Indian, Can-Am, Yamaha, CF Moto, and Kawasaki.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Lightspeed or similar point-of-sale software, or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Must supply and maintain your own tools.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Able to bend, lift and twist if needed
Requirements:
- Supply and maintain your own tools.
- Current valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record, no blemishes.
- Experience driving both manual and automatic vehicles.
