Lead HVAC Service Technician (AUSTIN AREA BASED)

We are seeking an experienced, skilled Lead HVAC Service Technician who lives in the Austin area to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems and be proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintenance while providing honest recommendations. This role requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction. This position requires a minimum of 3 years experience as a service technician; an ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience. Qualifications include the following: EPA Universal Certification; registered with the State of Texas as a HVAC Service Technician; clean background; clean driving record; and employee-provided hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems in residential and commercial settings.
• Diagnose issues with heating and cooling systems using schematics and technical manuals.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Utilize tools such as multi-meter / voltage meter / ohmmeters / capacitor testers for diagnosis, repairs, and installations.
• Collaborate with other service technicians to provide high-quality service to clients.
• Collaborate and educate entry level service technicians.
• Oversee jobs with sub-contractors.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all tasks.

Skills

• Strong understanding of HVAC principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical and mechanical systems.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in service technician roles.
• Knowledge of systems related to HVAC installations is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.50 - $34.00 per hour
