Service Technician - Level 3
YOUR ROLE
We are looking for a Service Technician Level 3 to join our Technical Services team at our Chipping Warden facility, near Banbury.
Working as part of a skilled workshop team, you will maintain, service and repair a wide range of cars and vans to manufacturer standards. This role is ideal for a qualified technician who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys delivering high-quality results within a professional automotive environment.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
You will carry out vehicle pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), servicing and repairs, including mechanical work, brake replacement and tyre fitting. You will complete repair and rectification work in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, using technical manuals, service bulletins and specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
Using our AssetCare system on a tablet, you will manage your allocated jobs, record labour time accurately and document the work completed. You will ensure workshop records are kept up to date, request and check parts, and add clear technician notes to support each repair.
Working closely with fellow technicians, Garage Support, Inspection and Client Services colleagues, you will help maintain consistent workshop productivity and minimise unnecessary downtime. You will identify vehicle defects and signs of potential failure, reporting any repairs that cannot be completed on site to the Damage Administrator.
You will also help maintain a safe and organised workshop, keeping tools, equipment and work areas clean, reporting faulty equipment and following site health and safety procedures.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You will hold City & Guilds Levels 1, 2 and 3 in Motor Vehicle Studies, a Higher BTEC or an equivalent qualification, with experience in a vehicle workshop environment.
You will be confident carrying out vehicle servicing, inspections and mechanical repairs, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality. You will be a team player who communicates effectively with colleagues and can also manage your own workload efficiently.
Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills would be advantageous. Manufacturer training, including training relating to electric and hybrid vehicles, would also be beneficial but is not essential. A willingness to learn and undertake further manufacturer training will support your development in the role.
WHAT DO WE HAVE TO OFFER?
With a genuine culture of reward and recognition, we want our employees to grow, develop and be part of our journey. We offer a benefits package that includes competitive annual leave entitlement with a fantastic holiday buy scheme, pension and life assurance along with access to an employee benefits platform that offers discounts on gym memberships and money off vouchers for a diverse range of retail, travel and hospitality brands.
