Job Summary

The Service Technician (Lifeboat & Marine Fire) performs inspections, maintenance, servicing, and repairs on lifeboats, davits, winches, and marine fire-fighting equipment to ensure safety and compliance with international maritime standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, service, and maintain marine fire-fighting equipment and extinguishing systems onboard vessels and in the workshop to ensure operational reliability
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair lifeboats, davits, rescue boats, and winches onboard vessels to meet safety standards
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with vessel owners, superintendents, agents, shipyards, and ship repair personnel to facilitate service operations
  • Arrange timely collection and delivery of equipment for servicing to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Prepare accurate service reports, documentation, and certification to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct quality control checks to verify that service jobs are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Perform other assigned duties to support team and operational needs

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in the marine industry preferred
  • Possess at least a Professional Certificate or Nitec in Marine Engineering, or demonstrate knowledge/experience in servicing fire safety equipment
  • Hold a valid Class 3 driving license
  • Willingness to take on assignments after normal working hours with overtime pay
  • Willingness to travel overseas when required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong sense of responsibility to complete tasks on time

  • Working location: Tuas
  • Working days/hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
