Serviceman - Open Pit Mining Maintenance

Summary

Performs daily servicing and planned maintenance on heavy mining machinery and equipment in an open-pit mine workshop, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Our Macraes Open Pit workshop team are on the search for a Serviceman to join their team. This role will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing daily servicing (fueling and lubrication) and planned maintenance of all mining machinery and ancillary plant/equipment under control of the open pit maintenance workshop. Additionally, the successful applicant will display a high degree of professionalism and quality workmanship to ensure that cost effective maintenance and repairs are delivered.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping of all facilities, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Apply Contamination Control methodologies for all work undertaken.
  • Record and report usage of all components, parts, and other resources on work-order job cards.
  • Planned maintenance (servicing) of all mining, ancillary and support plant.
  • Provide assistance to the fleet maintenance technicians and other workshop personnel.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified for equipment or tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required.
  • Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the servicing, repairs and maintenance of heavy machinery.
  • Similar experience in an industry such as forestry, agriculture and road transport carrying out similar types of work will be considered.
  • Previous experience with operating of heavy plant and equipment an advantage.
