THE ROLE

Talent Street is recruiting a ServiceNow Developer for an initial contract running from early October 2026 to end of June 2027, with a 12-month extension option. Based in Canberra, ACT, with hybrid working arrangements available. This role is also available to candidates who can work out of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane offices.

This role sits within a busy ICT division supporting enterprise-wide ServiceNow delivery.

Working within an agile delivery team at APS6 equivalent level, you'll contribute across the full development lifecycle — from requirements refinement and solution design through to build, testing, deployment and post-implementation support — across modules including ITSM, HRSD and CSM.

An active Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance is required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Performing hands-on coding in JavaScript and configuration using Flow Designer, UI Builder and Business Rules
• Designing, building and enhancing solutions across ServiceNow products including ITSM, HRSD and CSM
• Integrating ServiceNow with external systems via REST APIs and web services
• Collaborating with product owners, business analysts, architects and operational teams to translate requirements into working solutions
• Contributing to platform maintenance including upgrades, patching, defect resolution and performance optimisation
• Producing technical documentation, specifications and knowledge transfer materials
• Participating in agile ceremonies and working in accordance with agile principles
• Identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities across the platform

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification (essential)
• Strong, proven hands-on experience as a ServiceNow Developer in enterprise environments
• Solid skills across JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies and Flow Designer
• Demonstrated experience with REST API and web service integrations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience in environments with strong governance, change management and security requirements

NICE TO HAVE

• ServiceNow product certifications in ITSM, HRSD or CSM
• Familiarity with ITIL or service management frameworks
• Experience in Australian Government or security-sensitive ICT environments
• Exposure to agile or hybrid delivery methodologies
