Shape the future of Saab IT - Head of enterprise architecture
Description
Take on a leadership role at the heart of Saab's digital transformation. As Head of Enterprise Architecture within the CIO Office, you will lead a strategically important area with a Saab-wide mandate. You will help shape how Saab evolves in an increasingly digital, connected and security-critical world where cloud, AI, digital engineering, automation and data-driven capabilities are becoming increasingly important. Through architectural guardrails, principles and target state, you will guide technology decisions across the enterprise.
This role is about ensuring that the technology decisions we make today create a secure, resilient, scalable and economically sustainable enterprise for tomorrow. You will work across Saab, ensuring a coherent technology direction while enabling organisations to move quickly. Join Saab on an exciting journey of growth and transformation, helping to position the organisation for future success in an increasingly digital and globally connected world.
Your role
As Head of Enterprise Architecture, you lead the organisation, people and capabilities within the area, while driving the transformation agenda and ensuring alignment with Saab's business and technology priorities.
Your mission is to ensure that major technology decisions and transformation initiatives move Saab towards a coherent target architecture. You will translate business strategy into technology direction, identify the decisions that matter most, establish clear architectural guardrails and help teams make better decisions closer to where the work happens.
You will address some of Saab's most complex architectural challenges, balancing enterprise-wide direction, business needs, security requirements and technology modernisation. This includes cloud, AI, on-premises and classified environments, where security, sovereignty, resilience and long technology lifecycles are critical considerations.
You will be part of the CIO Office management team. You will work closely with business leaders, engineering organisations, security leaders and technology stakeholders across Saab to align business priorities, set architectural direction and drive transformation. The role requires travel to meet with your teams and business stakeholders.
In this role, you will
- Lead, develop and engage your team, and build a strong federated architecture community across Saab
- Define and evolve enterprise target architecture, technology principles and strategic roadmaps that translate business strategy into clear technology direction
- Establish architectural guardrails and standards that enable teams to make sound decisions locally while maintaining enterprise-wide alignment
- Guide major transformation programmes and technology investments towards the target architecture, aligning business, engineering, cybersecurity and IT perspectives
- Drive simplification across the technology landscape and promote reuse of strategic platforms where it creates business value
- Guide architectural decisions across cloud, AI, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, integration and enterprise platforms, addressing security requirements across different information and security domains
- Assess technology dependencies, technical debt, lifecycle cost and vendor lock-in risks to support informed priorities and investment decisions
- Strengthen Saab’s enterprise architecture capabilities and embed architectural guidance into planning and delivery
