Rothe is seeking a SharePoint Engineer to provide OCIO intranet SharePoint redesign support to include but not be limited to SharePoint content audit, migration planning, and hands on content optimization, in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency’s enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA’s message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA’s communication to the outside world. Job Description:
This is a short-term (90-day) position.
Functional Responsibilities:
SharePoint Content Auditing & Documentation
- Populate content audit spreadsheets for Service Lines (SLs), Agency Level Offices (ALOs), and OCIO Intranet sections from existing templates.
- Provide page-by-page content inventory and analysis.
Content Migration, Site Architecture Integrity & Restructuring
- Map existing pages to new site structure.
- Create content updates and reformatting at the page level.
Content Optimization & Quality Control
- Fine-tune content for clarity, consistency, and alignment with standards.
- Apply formatting standards across migrated content and ensure content meets organizational requirements.
- Maintain a live, populated tracker per org that Team can reference for status and next steps.
Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions, the employee bears travel costs to the nearest NASA Center for badging and the issuance of NASA IT equipment.
For a Remote or Hybrid position, the employee must have a reliable internet connection and be able to VPN into the NASA network to conduct work.
Education and Experience:
Minimum Education: BS or BA in IT or other related field
Minimum Experience: 6 years of relevant experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- SharePoint Online (M365) content management, comfortable building, editing, and reformatting pages within an existing site structure without heavy IT/developer support
- Content audit/inventory experience, has built or populated structured audit tools before: cataloging pages, URLs, ownership, and content status across a large multi-site environment (40+ subsites is a meaningful scale)
- Ability to customize an audit template, can take a standard audit tool and adapt/populate it per OCIO org, including pulling URLs directly from the OCIO intranet site and noting recommendations based on prior inventory work
- Content editing for customer-friendliness, can revise existing page content to be clearer and more user-focused, not just relocate it
- Branding/visual consistency execution, can apply standardized, revised branded templates (headers, navigation, layout) to existing pages to improve UX, without restructuring the underlying site architecture
- Teams + SharePoint integration familiarity, understands how Teams-connected SharePoint sites work and won’t inadvertently disrupt existing structure or permissions
- Strong organizational/documentation skills, will be maintaining populated audit tools and trackers per org, with clear status and recommendations
- Ability to work well within a team, this role coordinates directly with Anne Marie’s Tiger Team members conducting the audit, not working in isolation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Federal/NASA SharePoint experience or familiarity with OneNASA intranet environment
- Experience with Copilot-in-SharePoint or AI-assisted content tools
- Basic graphic design skills (for simple branding touch-ups, icons, banners)
- Prior experience supporting an org through a reorg-driven content refresh
