Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft)
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a military technician position with the Army Reserve Aviation Command (ARAC), Aviation Support Facility (ASF) Carson West located at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Fabricates, lays out, forms and installs a variety of metal surfaces and structural members for aircraft.
Examines aircraft flying surfaces and supporting sheet metal structures to determine extent of repair using applicable technical manuals.
Removes damaged aircraft structural members and installs replacement members including beams and formers.
Plans and lays out work using applicable work practices for repair and modification of aircraft metal parts and components.
