Sheeter Helper

Summary

Operates and assists with paper-sheeting machinery, inspects rolls, loads paper, ensures quality, and packages finished sheets for shipping in a manufacturing environment.

The Sheeter Helper is responsible for staging, inspecting, and loading large paper rolls into the sheeting machinery. They support the Sheeter Operator during machine setups, safely manage production waste, and prepare finished, stacked pallets of sheeted paper for the next phase of shipping or printing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Material Preparation: Staging rolls according to the daily production schedule.

  • Roll Inspection: Pre-inspecting incoming parent rolls for outer core defects, tearing, or moisture damage.

  • Machine Loading: Safely unwrapping rolls, removing old cores, and assisting with roll tracking alignment.

  • Operator Support: Helping thread the paper web through slitter blades, de-curlers, and rollers.

  • Quality Assurance: Frequently measuring cut sheets to verify dimensions, squareness, and catch structural defects.

  • Pallet Packaging: Operating stretch wrappers, banders, and labeling equipment to secure finished skids.

  • Waste Management: Sorting, binding, and recycling paper trimmings to keep the department organized.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Assisting with regular machinery cleanup, lubrication, and basic blade replacement tasks.
