Sheetmetal Worker
Location Peregian Beach, QLD
Due to a strong pipeline of projects, increased workload, and continued business expansion, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Sheetmetal Worker to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Interpret technical drawings and specifications to fabricate sheetmetal components for outdoor structures.
Cut, bend, roll, and shape sheetmetal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as guillotines, press brakes, and rollers.
Assemble and join metal parts by welding, bolting, or riveting to create finished products including retaining wall panels, custom firepits, pergola frames, and decorative arbors.
Apply protective finishes and treatments to ensure durability in outdoor conditions.
Conduct quality checks to ensure products meet design, safety, and performance standards.
Install fabricated components on-site as part of landscaping and garden construction projects.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness in line with workplace health and safety standards.
Skills Required
Strong proficiency in sheetmetal fabrication techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Competency in MIG/TIG welding and other metal joining techniques.
Knowledge of protective coatings and finishing processes for outdoor metal products.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
Certificate III in Engineering – Sheetmetal Trade, or equivalent.
Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Sheetmetal Worker or in a similar fabrication role on a skilled level.
Experience in producing custom steel structures for landscaping or outdoor use is highly desirable.
