We're looking for a SHEQ Advisor to join Team Connolly, supporting our projects across the North West, North Wales and West Yorkshire. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with site teams, managers and subcontractors to promote best practice, drive continuous improvement and help ensure our projects are delivered safely and to the highest standards.

The Role


Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you'll support the delivery of our Safety, Health, Environment and Quality objectives across multiple projects, helping to maintain compliance, improve performance and foster a positive safety culture.


Key Responsibilities


  • Carry out site inspections, audits and risk assessments
  • Support compliance with Health & Safety legislation, ISO standards and company procedures
  • Prepare and maintain Construction Phase Plans and SHEQ documentation
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying corrective actions
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and SHEQ training
  • Monitor environmental performance, including waste management and sustainability requirements
  • Maintain SHEQ records, databases and reporting information
  • Support SSIP accreditations, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Assist bid and pre-construction teams with SHEQ-related submissions
  • Promote continuous improvement and best practice across all areas of SHEQ



About You


We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and confident building relationships with people at all levels.


You'll ideally have:


  • NEBOSH Certificate (essential)
  • IOSH membership and/or an environmental qualification such as IEMA (desirable)
  • Experience within construction, refurbishment or social housing
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections and incident investigations
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
