SHES Specialist (Marine Environmental)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced environmental specialist to support major oil & gas projects, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and best practices. The role will focus on environmental management, monitoring, and compliance across offshore and marine-related project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and company standards across all project phases
- Support and oversee environmental management activities related to offshore installation, dredging, and coastal works
- Monitor contractor environmental performance and ensure adherence to approved environmental plans and procedures
- Participate in environmental impact assessments (EIA) and support implementation of mitigation measures
- Develop and manage environmental monitoring programmes, including reporting and data analysis
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory and project requirements
- Provide guidance on environmental risks and implement control and mitigation measures
- Ensure alignment with international environmental standards and guidelines (e.g. ISO 14001, MARPOL, IFC)
- Coordinate with stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities
- Support incident investigations related to environmental events and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in sciences, safety, health, environment, security, engineering, or a related discipline
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in SHES within the oil & gas industry
- Experience working with operators, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and service providers
- Strong knowledge of marine environmental management, including dredging, coastal works, and offshore installation
- Experience with environmental regulations and permitting processes in the Middle East (Qatar preferred)
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessments (EIA), environmental monitoring, and compliance audits
- Knowledge of international environmental standards such as ISO 14001, MARPOL, and IFC guidelines
- Experience in contractor supervision and offshore project execution
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills

Location and Contract Details
Location: Doha, Qatar
Contract duration: 36 months
Working schedule: 8–10 hours per day, 5 days per week, 22 days per month
Rotation: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off
