Shift Engineer, Facility
Summary
Maintains and troubleshoots critical facility systems (electrical, HVAC, fire protection) in a data center, ensuring safety, compliance, and 24/7 uptime while coordinating contractors and energy optimization.
Responsibilities
· Provide support in daily facility operations and maintenance activities, and weekly/monthly report submission.
· Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to workplace safety and environmental standards
· Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of critical systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
· Liaise with client engineering/operations team to ensure compliance to local regulations and safety standards and client’s company procedures.
· Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility systems and equipment.
· Develop and implement contingency plans for system breakdowns or emergencies
· Provide 24/7 technical support during critical issues, such as electrical system failure.
· Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and facility-related problems, coordinating with vendors and contractors as needed.
· Review “Events and Actions” on site and implement remedial actions where needed.
· Manage contractors work on site to ensure adherence to procedures.
· Be involved in co-ordination and liaison on contractor works, which includes
- Power Diversion
- Machine power up and down
- Machine roll in and out
- Update of Power Distribution Unit (PDU) / Machine listing
- Power tracing
- Equipment data logging and all other minor works which contribute to the well-being of the Data Centre or Site
· Collaborate with project team during the construction and commissioning phases to ensure that facility systems are installed correctly and meet operational requirements.
· Monitor and optimize energy usage to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Requirements
· Degree/Diploma with at least 1 year of experience in facilities management / engineering, preferably in data centre or critical environment.
(ITE holder with relevant years of experience or fresh degree/diploma holder can be considered)
· Strong understanding of large-scale M&E facility infrastructure system and high level of accuracy and attention to detail in maintaining facility systems and documentation.
· Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and technical manuals, and handling preventive maintenance software and troubleshooting tools.
· Certification in workplace safety (eg. WSQ, WSH) preferred.
· Positive proactive attitude and ethical behaviour.
· Team player with ability to work independently and resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills.
