Shipment Coordinator
Summary
Coordinates international shipments by preparing documents, verifying compliance, and resolving customs/logistics issues while liaising with suppliers and carriers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and process international shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and export/import declarations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and logistics partners to facilitate smooth shipment movement.
- Verify shipment details, product classifications, and documentation accuracy before dispatch.
- Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to internal teams and customers.
- Resolve documentation discrepancies, customs issues, and shipping-related queries promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping documents and ensure proper filing for audit and compliance purposes.
- Prepare shipping reports and maintain documentation databases.
- Negotiate, Resolve any claims related to shipments (demurrage and detention, damaged containers, etc).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of international shipping procedures, and Incoterms
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities is an advantage.
- Chinese, English language is required.
