Shipping Clerk
Summary
Handles shipping and receiving in a manufacturing plant, verifying orders, managing inventory, and coordinating with production teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Job Purpose:

Key Responsibilities:

Stage, load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished goods within a manufacturing environment.

Prepare and verify outbound shipments by comparing contents to packing lists, bills of lading, and production documentation.

Receive inbound materials, inspect for damage or discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation and system entry.

Coordinate with Manufacturing, Production, and Quality departments to consolidate materials and prepare complete outbound shipments.

Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts as required.

Identify and report shipment issues, damages, shortages, or quality concerns to the Manufacturing Manager.

Support production by fulfilling parts requests and emergency orders to minimize downtime.

Follow all safety policies, manufacturing procedures, and quality standards, including proper use of PPE.

Recommend and support process improvements related to shipping, receiving, material flow, and inventory accuracy.

Assist with lean manufacturing initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and controlling costs.

Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.
