About Us
Makoto-Ya is a leading Japanese food and beverage importer and distributor in Singapore. We represent premium Japanese brands including Sapporo Beer, Yebisu Beer, award-winning sake breweries, and Japanese rice from our own rice fields in Japan.
We are looking for a Shipping Executive to support our growing import and export operations. No prior shipping experience is required, comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided. We are looking for someone who is organized, meticulous, and willing to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping and import/export documentation
- Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners regarding shipment arrangements.
- Coordinate with bonded warehouse operators and transport providers to ensure timely movement of goods from the port to our warehouse.
- Track shipment schedules and monitor cargo arrival dates.
- Assist with customs clearance and regulatory documentation.
- Liaise with government agencies such as Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and Singapore Customs when required.
- Ensure all shipping records and documents are properly filed and maintained.
- Support inventory and warehouse teams by providing shipment updates and relevant documentation.
- Perform other administrative and operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No experience required; training will be provided.
- Fresh graduates and candidates looking to start a career in logistics/shipping are welcome to apply.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple shipments and deadlines.
- Comfortable communicating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
