Shipping Freight Clerk
Job Summary
Coordinate sea freight shipments by arranging bookings, managing documentation, monitoring cargo progress, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery and billing.
Responsibilities
- Arrange bookings with shipping lines or carriers for sea cargo transport to ensure timely shipments
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, internal departments, and warehouse teams to maintain smooth cargo flow
- Prepare and manage shipping instructions, customs documents, letters of credit, and other necessary shipment paperwork
- Arrange timely collection and dispatch of cargo according to customer requests
- Monitor sea freight shipment progress in real-time and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Identify and resolve shipment delays or issues promptly, taking corrective actions and issuing pre-alerts to customers
- Ensure timely and accurate billing and invoice processing for shipments
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and concerns
- Maintain open and effective communication with customers to provide excellent service and updates
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum education: "O" Level
- At least 2 years of experience in the shipping industry
- Fresh graduates may apply.
- Knowledge of import and export ocean shipments
- Understanding of L/C documentation, Incoterms, Singapore shipping procedures, and freight forwarding practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- Analytical skills to monitor shipment progress and resolve issues
- Ability to work proactively as a team player with a high sense of responsibility
- Effective planning and follow-up skills to manage workload in a fast-paced environment
- Creative problem-solving skills to address shipment challenges
- Immediate availability to start work is an advantage

- Work Arrangement: 5 days a week (Monday to Friday), 8:00 am to 5:45 pm
