Job Summary

You will lead the operations team in a fast-growing maritime tech startup, managing tanker chartering operations and charter parties while driving team performance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the operations team to ensure smooth workflow and achievement of targets
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members and customers to resolve operational issues and enhance service quality
• Manage and maintain the internal VMS module to ensure accurate and efficient system performance
• Respond promptly to customer queries related to the VMS module, ensuring clear communication and resolution
• Lead and be accountable for the execution and performance of all team functions, driving operational effectiveness
• Set clear goals and develop actionable plans to address resource allocation and operational challenges
• Make informed decisions based on resource availability, company policies, processes, and business plans
• Plan and control resource deployment and process formation to optimize operational efficiency

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 10 years of operations and management experience in ship owning, operating, or shipbroking within major commercial shipping markets
• Deep knowledge of commercial shipping and liquid bulk chemical vessel operations, including vessel chartering, voyage management, demurrage, and laytime calculation
• Proven experience liaising with Korean customers in the shipping industry
