The hiring range for this position is $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience.
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for the shipping of materials and products.
Key responsibilities include meeting daily shipping requirements, product packaging, shipments, inventory management, assisting with process improvements, organization and safety.
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Key Responsibilities
Daily Shipments
• Achieves an overall customer on-time delivery rate that exceeds Company objectives
• Receives sales orders; prioritizes order processing by due date to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers
• Picks and packages products from inventory in the most efficient possible method
Shipment Quality
• Prepares shipping labels with accurate product information and checks work against sales orders
• Packages/boxes materials for shipment to minimize the risk of potential damages during shipment
Inventory Management
• May perform accurate physical counts of all inventory notifying Supervisor of discrepancies
• Stores all products their correct specified warehouse inventory locations
Material Receiving
• Receives and inspects incoming products
• Proactively identifies and segregates products that are damaged or do not meet Company specifications
Safety & Organization
• Keeps accurate, detailed and timely record keeping for all shipping and receiving activities
• Takes responsibility for keeping the shipping area safe, clean and organized
• Wears all required personal protective equipment including safety glasses
Process Improvement
• Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in shipping
• Assists with the implementation of process improvement initiatives
