Shipping Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day production activities with a primary emphasis on Safety, Health, & Environmental compliance and production performance.
• Complete safety observations, recognize and address potential issues as they arise
• Manage all shipments of material by rail and truck
• Manage treated inventory on a First in, First Out (FIFO) basis.
• Maintain housekeeping for areas supervised.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; BS in Wood Science or Business preferred.
• 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree would be considered.
• Relevant industrial supervisory experience; management experience in the timber industry preferred.
• Safety, health and environmental awareness
• Strong organizational, teamwork and communications skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products
• Prior union experience is preferred
