SHIPWRIGHT LEADER (EXPERT)

You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT LEADER (EXPERT) in the TEMPORARY SERVICES SHOP (CODE 990), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will serve as an Expert Shipwright and will lead a group of shipwrights of varying levels of experience.

You will be responsible for assuring to a Shipwright Supervisor that all work assignments of the group are carried out properly on any of the three shifts as assigned.

You will exercise leadership skills to mentor trade employees in a wide range of work activities.

You will perform research to continually improve trade processes and keep shop personnel apprised of new technologies and procedures associated with shipwright work.

You will identify cumbersome work practices and deficiencies, improve trade processes, inspect work, and implement corrective actions.
