Shop Manager / Assistant Shop Manager at Noma Projects

At Noma Projects, we're constantly exploring new ways to share our products, ideas, and hospitality with the world.

The Green House Shop is where many people first encounter our world. It is a place for coffee, products, tastings, and conversations. A place where hospitality matters just as much as the products on the shelves.

We already have one Shop Manager, but we're looking for an additional Shop Manager or Assistant Shop Manager who wants to take real ownership and help shape the future of the Green House Shop.

This is not simply a retail management role. It's an opportunity to lead a team, build a culture, create memorable guest experiences, and continuously develop a unique hospitality destination.

The Role

As Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation and development of the Green House Shop in collaboration with the other Shop Manager.

You will lead a small team, drive day-to-day operations, coordinate events and activations, maintain exceptional service standards, and identify opportunities to improve how the shop operates and grows.

You will work closely with colleagues across Noma Projects and Noma while spending much of your time where it matters most: in the shop with guests and alongside the team.

This is a new role which means it's still moldable to who you are, but we would expect at least the following 5 areas:

1) Building and Leading a Great Team

  • Coach and support team members through regular feedback and development conversations

  • Set clear goals and create accountability around performance and sales

  • Help create a team culture built on hospitality, ownership and collaboration

2) Creating Exceptional Guest Experiences

  • Lead by example on the floor

  • Uphold service standards and hospitality values

  • Ensure every guest receives a warm, personal and memorable experience

3) Product Knowledge & Storytelling

  • Bring a genuine interest in cooking, ingredients, and food culture, with the curiosity to continuously deepen your knowledge.

  • Understand how the products are used and experienced in practice through your own interest in cooking and food.

  • Confidently guide and inspire guests and answer questions about ingredients, flavor profiles and applications.

4) Driving Performance and Growth

  • Monitor sales, staffing costs and performance metrics

  • Analyze seasonal trends and guest behavior

  • Help define the future direction and ambitions of the shop

5) Managing Operations

  • Ensure smooth daily operations

  • Maintain back-of-house organization and operational readiness

  • Resolve issues proactively and efficiently

Developing the Shop

A significant part of this role is helping us continuously improve what the Green House Shop can become. Your role would be crucial in planning and executing events, workshops and seasonal activations.

Who are you?

  • You may come from hospitality, specialty coffee, retail, food, lifestyle brands or another guest-focused environment.

  • You are already deeply interested in cooking, ingredients, and flavor, and can confidently engage with guests in conversations about food and how Noma Projects' products can be used and enjoyed at home.

  • Have the spark that makes guests feel genuinely welcome and positively influences the energy of the entire team.

  • Enjoy leading and developing people

  • Has experience managing a service-oriented operation

  • Has strong organizational and planning skills

  • Takes ownership and follows through

What We Offer

  • A key role within Noma Projects

  • The opportunity to shape and grow a unique retail and hospitality concept

  • Meaningful responsibility and ownership

  • A collaborative and ambitious team

  • Close collaboration across hospitality, coffee, production and operations

  • An environment that values curiosity, craftsmanship and continuous improvement

  • And a salary package that includes pension

At Noma Projects, we're more interested in potential, curiosity and attitude than in ticking every box.

If you're excited by the idea of building teams, creating memorable experiences and helping shape the future of the Green House Shop, we'd love to hear from you.
