Shop Structural Welder

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
Fit, align, and weld structural steel components.
Perform MIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding as required.
Operate cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and other fabrication equipment.
Ensure fabricated assemblies meet dimensional and quality requirements.
Complete welds in accordance with applicable codes and project specifications.
Assist with material handling, rigging, and shop housekeeping activities.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Participate in quality inspections and corrective actions when required.

Qualifications

3+ years of structural welding experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings.
Proficiency in MIG and FCAW welding processes.
Experience working with carbon steel and structural assemblies.
Knowledge of welding symbols and fabrication tolerances.
Ability to pass applicable welding tests.
Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred.
