Sign Service Technician - Hurst, TX
We are looking for an experienced Journeyman Sign Service Technician to join our DFW team. This is a hands-on field position for someone who knows the sign industry, can troubleshoot problems independently, and takes pride in getting the job done safely and correctly.
You'll work on a variety of commercial signage throughout the DFW area, including channel letters, pole and pylon signs, and wall signs.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial signage, including channel letters, pole and pylon signs, and wall signs
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues with non-working signs
- Perform accurate site and service surveys
- Review service orders, drawings, and blueprints and determine the tools, equipment, and materials needed for each job
- Develop safe and efficient approaches to completing service and maintenance work
- Lead and direct crews when required
- Operate service vehicles and equipment safely
- Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, and other project partners
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Current State of Texas Journeyman Sign Electrician or Journeyman Electrician license
- At least 5 years of sign service technician experience
- CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or willingness and ability to obtain within 90 days of employment with our financial support.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with electrical and basic hand tools
- Ability to independently maintain and repair multiple types of commercial signs
- Ability to lead a crew and ensure work is performed safely
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions
Physical Requirements
This is an active field position. Candidates must be able to:
- Work safely at heights and in elevated equipment
- Work in confined or tight spaces when necessary
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Walk, stand, bend, stoop, climb, and perform physical work throughout the workday
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $30.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time position with an 8-hour shift schedule.
