Silicon Photonics verification and validation engineer (f/m/d)

Open 20d
  • Lead the validation and characterization of silicon photonic devices, defining test strategies from early prototype through to qualification
  • Analyse and interpret measurement data to extract underlying device physics, identify performance limitations, and drive root-cause analysis
  • Execute and/or oversee wafer-level probing and automated test systems for scalable device validation
  • Take full ownership of validation activities, from test definition and setup architecture to execution, automation, data analysis and reporting
  • Lead debugging of complex device and system-level issues, including ambiguous or conflicting measurement results
  • Collaborate closely with design, process, packaging and system teams, acting as the key interface between measurement data and engineering decisions
  • MSc or PhD in Physics (semiconductor, solid-state), Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • A few years of industry or advanced research experience in photonic device characterization or validation
  • Deep understanding of silicon photonic and semiconductor device physics, including the ability to connect measurements to physical mechanisms
  • Hands-on experience with electro-optical characterization at wafer, die level or package level
  • Strong background in data analysis, modelling and interpretation (Python, Matlab or similar), including handling large datasets
  • Ability to communicate clear, concise and insightful technical conclusions tailored to different stakeholders
  • Fluent English; German is a plus
