Job Summary: Come join our Silver Dollar City Park Wardrobe Team. Working behind the scenes of our great park. Our team is responsible for participating in the preparation, production and maintenance of host (employee) costumes.

This is a Full Time Seasonal Position

Starts Now and Ends 1/14/2027

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Fabricate and repair various costumes by operating sewing machines, sergers, other sewing machinery as needed and make repairs by hand.
  • Measure, alter, and issue costumes to hosts in a timely manner.
  • Assist with customer service needs by working at the front desk using a computer for data entry and attending to needs of hosts.
  • Assist with cleaning and putting away costumes using washers and dryers, and electric iron if needed.
  • Stock shelves with rolls and bolts of fabric.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays – may work alone and as a team.
  • Interact with fellow hosts, leadership, vendors and suppliers while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Keep the work area clean and maintain the cleanliness of the shop.
  • Maintain organization of forms and documents, handle cash and records information accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all authorized operator requirements and safety procedures specific to the job assignment.
  • Follow all Park Wardrobe SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be self-motivated and possess good organizational skills with proficiency in time management.
  • Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
  • Must have one year experience of sewing, reading pattern instructions and altering garments.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a sewing test.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Experience with computers and data input.
  • Must have sewing skills and knowledge of using and caring for different machines used in constructing costumes or costume items.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate sewing machines, sergers, irons, computers, and other equipment.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and move about to access costumes, supplies, and equipment.
  • This position requires occasional lifting and moving of items weighing up to 50 pounds, lifting with assistance up to 75 pounds, and pushing or pulling loads up to 250 pounds.
  • Requires visual acuity for close work such as sewing, reading patterns, and making detailed repairs.

Work Environment: This position is primarily based indoors in a wardrobe facility with moderate noise from sewing machines, laundry equipment, and other machinery. The role involves a combination of hands-on costume work and customer service, requiring regular interaction with hosts for fittings, costume checkouts, and costume maintenance needs. Workspaces may include storage areas with varying temperatures. The pace can be fast, especially during peak seasons, and the role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
