Job Title - Simulation Data Integration & Sensor Engineer
We are looking for a Simulation Data Integration & Sensor Engineer. Your role focuses on bringing the real world into the simulation — connecting sensor streams, telemetry, control signals, and machine data to a virtual environment built on NVIDIA Omniverse / Isaac Sim .
You will collaborate closely with the simulation architect to ensure the environment accurately represents real-world signals and system behaviour, while building and maintaining the data pipelines that make the digital twin credible and useful for engineering and automation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines that bring real-world sensor and telemetry streams into the simulation environment.
- Integrate LiDAR, GPS, camera, GNSS, and other sensor inputs into the virtual model with realistic behaviour and correct timing.
- Interpret and process structured and semi-structured data formats (binary messages, JSON/XML, UDP/TCP streams).
- Validate simulation outputs against expected sensor characteristics and actual system behaviour.
- Handle coordinate transformations, position/velocity tracking, and basic kinematic calculations.
- Work with the simulation architect to ensure clean integration of sensor/data layers with the USD-based environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with Isaac Sim or another modern robotics simulation platform (ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, Unreal/Unity-based simulators, etc.).
- Hands-on experience integrating real-world data sources into simulations: sensor messages, telemetry streams, control signals, positional or machine-state data.
- Ability to handle structured and semi-structured data (binary formats, JSON/XML, UDP/TCP).
- Strong Python skills for ingestion layers, data processing, and simulation scripting.
- Understanding of coordinate transforms, position/velocity tracking, and basic kinematics.
- Experience validating simulation outputs against real-world or expected behaviour.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to NVIDIA Isaac Sim Sensor API (camera, LiDAR, GNSS) or desire to deepen expertise.
- Background in robotics perception, sensor fusion, or computer vision.
- Experience with time-sensitive data processing, low-latency streaming, or real-time feedback loops.
- Familiarity with connecting simulation environments to external test setups or automation tools.
- Experience implementing LiDAR-based systems — including hardware setup, calibration, and ROS2 stack development.
