[SIRCLO Internship Programme] Software Engineer Intern (Back End)

Responsibilities

• Develop backend features and services using Python or Go.
• Support the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Frontend Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers to deliver technical solutions that address business needs.
• Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality and development practices.
• Create and maintain unit tests to ensure system stability, performance, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to problem resolution efforts.
• Learn software development methodologies, system architecture principles, and engineering best practices through mentorship and hands‑on experience.
• Contribute to continuous improvements within the product and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Be a final‑year student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
• Show interest in, or hands‑on experience with Python or Go through academic, personal, or extracurricular projects.
• Understand fundamental database concepts, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Demonstrate familiarity with APIs and RESTful service architecture.
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment and communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and a strong willingness to learn through mentorship and feedback.
• Apply analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to technical challenges.
• Adapt quickly and thrive in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
