About Vertical Solutions

Vertical Solutions is a Salt Lake–based build team that designs, fabricates, and installs custom interiors for climbing and fitness facilities. Our crews take on creative wood fabrication and steel installations, from accent walls, custom furniture, lockers, and cubbies to the climbing structures they surround, and every piece is made to match the look of the whole project. We're a hands-on group of tradespeople who care about getting the details right.

About the Role

As a full-time Site Carpenter, you'll earn $25–$30/hour working between our company shop and customer job sites in and around Salt Lake County. In the shop, you'll pre-build and assemble custom pieces so they're ready to go. On site, you'll install them, set panels and steel, and make sure everything fits and finishes cleanly. No two weeks look exactly the same.

What You'll Do

• Build, assemble, and install custom woodwork like accent walls, furniture, lockers, and cubbies, matching the style of each project
• Pre-build and assemble components in our shop so installs go smoothly and efficiently on site
• Pitch in on the full build: steel fabrication and erection, wood structures, concrete work, demo, and scaffolding setup
• Work at heights using lifts and harnesses, following fall protection and rope access safety standards
• Read printed and digital plans, estimate materials and equipment, and run quality checks before calling a job done
• Operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools, shop equipment, and heavy machinery safely
• Keep the shop and job site clean and organized using 5S, and wear the right PPE every time
• Log your time and materials accurately each day
• Represent the team professionally when you're working in front of clients
• Start your day at the shop, by grabbing a company vehicle, or by heading straight to the site, then get to work on your own

What You Bring

You might be a great fit if you have:

• 5+ years of professional carpentry experience
• 3+ years of on-the-job construction training, an apprenticeship, or an associate degree in construction
• Experience building and installing custom woodwork such as accent walls, furniture, lockers, or cubbies (a big plus)
• A sharp eye with plans, measuring tools, and materials
• The self-drive to work independently and unsupervised, both in the shop and on site
• A friendly, professional presence with clients
• Clear communication with your foreman, crew, vendors, and clients
• A love for checklists and systems that keep work consistent and organized
• The ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly, stay on your feet all day, work at heights, and work in all kinds of weather

Climbing gym experience is a bonus, not a requirement. We're looking for great carpenters first.
