Position Summary:
In this position as Site Director, you will provide overall leadership, administration, and daily operational oversight of The Family Place's Child Development Center, ensuring a safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for children while maintaining full compliance with Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, agency policies, and applicable accreditation requirements. You'll lead and develop center staff through recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and coaching that builds a high-performing team committed to quality early childhood education and trauma-informed care. Oversee center operations including child enrollment and orientation, staff scheduling and assignment based on qualifications, maintaining required child-to-caregiver ratios, coordinating substitute coverage, managing licensing and regulatory compliance, and preparing for inspections and accreditation reviews. Monitor classroom operations to ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum, active supervision, positive behavior guidance, and high-quality learning environments while conducting observations and providing coaching that drives continuous quality improvement. Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, community partners, and regulatory agencies while creating a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture that reflects The Family Place's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Operations
- Provide overall leadership, administration, and daily operational oversight of the Child Development Center.
- Ensure compliance with Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, agency policies, accreditation standards, and all applicable regulations.
- Oversee all center operations, including child enrollment, orientation, attendance, withdrawal processes, and maintain accurate child, personnel, licensing, and program records.
- Monitor classroom operations to ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum, active supervision, positive behavior guidance, and high-quality learning environments.
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate center staff to support professional growth and high-quality performance.
- Develop staff schedules and assign personnel based on qualifications to maintain required child-to-caregiver ratios.
- Coordinate qualified substitute coverage to ensure continuity of services and compliance with staffing requirements.
- Plan and facilitate staff meetings, required trainings, professional development opportunities, and ensure compliance with annual training, certifications, and background check requirements.
- Promote a collaborative, trauma-informed, and inclusive workplace culture that reflects The Family Place's mission, vision, and values.
Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
- Conduct classroom observations, provide coaching, and support continuous quality improvement for instructional practices and child outcomes.
- Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children by monitoring emergency procedures, sanitation practices, medication administration, and overall facility compliance.
- Prepare for licensing inspections, accreditation reviews, and quality assurance visits, ensuring timely completion of corrective actions when necessary.
Family & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, staff, community partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Respond professionally to questions, concerns, and incidents involving families and stakeholders.
- Support family engagement activities, community partnerships, special events, and agency initiatives that enhance services for children and families.
Resource & Budget Management
- Oversee center resources, including supplies, equipment, facility needs, and operational budgets.
- Communicate program needs and budget requirements to agency leadership.
- Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality standards.
