Site Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Site Engineer to join our team delivering a major civils package at Heathrow Airport. The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering control, setting out, and quality delivery of link bridge foundations and structures, working closely with both self-delivery teams and subcontractors. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure project in a complex live airport environment. #LI-JK1 Responsibilities; ● Execute precise setting-out and engineering control for link bridge foundations, reinforced concrete (RC), groundworks, and structural civils. ● Review, interpret, and work from technical drawings, specifications, and design packages to ensure accurate execution on site. ● Assist in technical input and design coordination, particularly regarding structural elements and cladding interfaces. ● Carry out quality control inspections, managing accurate Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), permits to work, and maintaining detailed site daily records/shift logs. ● Assist with the preparation and implementation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and Quality Checklists. ● Provide technical guidance and day-to-day engineering support to operational site teams and subcontractors on site. ● Monitor live site works to ensure all operations strictly comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. ● Support the Section Engineer and Site Manager with daily planning, task briefings, sequencing, and tracking progress against the programme. ● Assist in managing temporary works checks and ensuring safe systems of work are maintained on site. **Knowledge, Skills, and Experience** **Essential** ● Proven experience as a Site Engineer with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor. Hands-on setting-out experience using modern surveying equipment (Robotic Total Station, GPS, Leica equipment). ● Strong technical understanding of RC frames, deep foundations, groundworks, and structural interfaces/cladding packages. ● Practical knowledge of quality compliance processes (ITPs, as-builts, material testing, and QA sign-offs). ● Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-working skills. ● Heathrow Airport or other major infrastructure/live transport environment experience is highly advantageous. ● Valid CSCS card (Civil Engineering/Engineer) and relevant site safety qualifications (SSSTS or SMSTS desirable). **Desirable** - Experience in working on a similar project is desirable but not essential. **What We Offer** ● Opportunity to work on one of the UK’s flagship aviation infrastructure projects. ● Competitive salary and package. ● Career development and progression paths toward Section Engineer within a leading Tier 1 contractor. ● A collaborative, supportive, and safety-focused working environment. **Essential** - Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND BSc, MSc, BEng, Meng) - SMSTS - First Aid **Desirable** - Appointed Person, lifting training is an advantage - Mental Health First Aid - Fire Marshalling
