Site Engineer

We have an opportunity for a Site Engineer based at Mango Hill, Queensland to join our Energy & Utilities Water team, supporting the successful delivery of construction projects across South East Queensland.

Working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Supervisors, subcontractors and clients, you will provide technical expertise and support the safe, timely and quality delivery of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with water or wastewater project delivery experience who is looking to further develop their career in a collaborative delivery environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provide technical advice and support to the Project Delivery and wider program teams
• Support project controls reporting, including project performance and progress
• Assist with identifying potential hazardous site activities and ensuring appropriate procedures and controls are implemented
• Support the design process to ensure drawings are completed and approved for construction in a timely manner
• Undertake ongoing constructability and fit for purpose reviews of designs
• Support the delivery of projects in accordance with project management plans, drawings and specifications
• Capture and communicate lessons learnt to support continuous improvement across the wider team
• Assist with reviewing subcontractor progress claims, extensions of time and variations
• Support negotiations and the engagement of suppliers and subcontractors
• Build effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and key delivery stakeholders
• Champion Zero Harm through proactive safety leadership and effective implementation of safety standards and initiatives

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring:

• An Engineering qualification – Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Electrical
• Two or more years of project delivery experience within the water or wastewater industry in South East Queensland
• Demonstrated experience driving quality outcomes in project delivery
• Strong communication skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• The ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships
• Sound computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and a thorough approach to your work
• A commitment to Zero Harm and safe project delivery
• The ability to perform effectively under pressure and adapt within a changing project environment
