SITE ENGINEER
Summary
Oversee electrical installation work on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications while coordinating teams and managing documentation.
1. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise and monitor day-to-day electrical installation works on site.
- Ensure electrical works (e.g., LV/HV power distribution, lighting, ELV, earthing, fire alarm, and control systems) are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and regulations.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, and workers to ensure timely progress.
- Inspect workmanship and resolve on-site technical issues.
2. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and local authority requirements (e.g., EMA, SCDF, BCA depending on country).
- Implement and enforce site safety practices for electrical works.
- Support testing and commissioning activities in compliance with QA/QC requirements.
3. Coordination
- Work closely with the Project Engineer/Project Manager on progress updates, technical clarifications, and site issues.
- Coordinate with other trades (mechanical, civil, architectural) to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth workflow.
- Attend site coordination meetings and report site status.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports on work progress, manpower, and material usage.
- Assist in preparing checklists, inspection reports, and test records.
- Verify electrical installations before inspection with consultants and authorities.
5. Material & Resource Management
- Monitor material deliveries, storage, and usage at site.
- Ensure proper handling and installation of electrical equipment and components.
- Report material shortages or discrepancies to the Project Engineer/Procurement team.
