Site Engineer - Mechanical

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (pumping stations, piping, leachate collection, gas extraction systems).

  • Ensure mechanical works are executed as per project specifications, drawings, and QCS/QatarEnergy standards.

  • Conduct inspections, verify material compliance, and coordinate with QA/QC teams.

  • Enforce HSE standards on site, ensure permit-to-work adherence, and monitor safe execution of mechanical activities.

  • Liaise with civil, electrical, and environmental teams to integrate mechanical systems into landfill infrastructure.

  • Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests, and maintain site records.

  • Address technical issues, propose solutions, and support site modifications.

  • Monitor manpower, equipment, and material usage for mechanical works.

  • Coordinate with consultants and client representatives during inspections and approvals.

  • Assist in testing and handover of landfill mechanical systems.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 5–7 years of site engineering experience, preferably in landfill, infrastructure, or environmental projects.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of pumping systems, piping networks, landfill gas extraction, and leachate treatment systems.

  • Familiarity with QCS (Qatar Construction Standards) execution practices.

  • Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.

  • Effective communication and leadership skills for site coordination.
